English has now become the global language, without which students could not compete well in the Job market. Department of English was established in Thiru kolanjiappar Govt.Arts College in 2005 to cater to the requirements of students hailing from this rural area. The department has since been offering not only value added education but also aims to empower, enhance and enrich the vision, employability and success of our students. The Department has talented, experienced, dedicated and devoted staff members. They are like ever ready batteries lending their hands in all walks of our students. Every year more than 100 students pass out (UG & PG) and get employed either in Government sector or in Public Sector. Every year stalwarts from various universities give lectures on recent literary trends.

Our motto is to instill self confidence among students from economically disadvantaged background and creating awareness among students about their social and educational rights.
